I ordered two Red Tape shoes to test for running. They look almost the same and share the same midsole and outsole pattern, but they are sold under different codes. I would not recommend either for running. For walking and casual wear, though, I found them very good and trendy. The cushioning is not very soft and there is no energy return. For walking that is fine. A walking shoe first needs to be stable, and these are. The midsole is a basic but durable EVA, not E-TPU. I only tried them at home. The difference is the upper. One has a sock-like knit upper with a sock-style heel collar. The other uses an engineered mesh with a traditional heel collar, like a trendy fashion casual shoe. I was happy with the build quality and the look. The black and the grey colourways both go with everything. I got them for under ₹1,500, and that price shows on Flipkart, Amazon, Myntra and Ajio. Red Tape has not named these shoes anywhere. I emailed and messaged them for more than a month with no reply. If you want a fashionable walking shoe with good build quality under ₹1,500, these are worth it. I am only returning them because I have no space.

Rewell
For ₹1,500, no one makes a more durable, walking-friendly and beginner-friendly shoe. It is a 10/10 for office goers, walkers and all-day standing, and an 8/10 for beginner runners, held back by a tight, hot upper.

Aeonic Recovery
The design and materials are top notch for ₹6,000, but the midsole feels flat and dead and the shoe weighs 390 g, so I would not recommend it for running. I am returning it; buy it only for walking and casual wear.

Glide-Step
The Glide-Step is a very well-built, durable shoe for all-day walking and standing, but I am not satisfied with it for running at ₹12,000. It is heavy, stiff, hot and has no real rocker.
