My verdict
After nearly 500 km, the ForeverRun Nitro is a mild stability shoe that does not feel like one, thanks to its bouncy Nitro foam. At ₹7,000–9,000 it is the best value for money.
Pros
- Bouncy Nitro foam, rare in a stability shoe
- Works at slow and fast paces
- Light, non-intrusive heel clip for mild support
- Snug midfoot with a wide forefoot and roomy toe box
- Excellent grip
- Acceptable outsole wear after 500 km
- Lighter than the Kayano at 280 g
Cons
- Upper developed a cut
- Only mild stability
- Rarely discounted, long sold at ₹16,000
Avoid if
Avoid it if you need aggressive stability or prefer the plush, highly protective feel of the Kayano.

Ride
8.0/10
The dual-density Nitro foam gives me bounce and some energy return at both slow and fast paces, so it does not feel like a stability shoe.
Design & Comfort
7.5/10
The heel counter, snug midfoot, padding and roomy forefoot were perfect for me, but the upper developed a cut.
Value
7.5/10
At ₹7,000–9,000 it is the best value for money, and the outsole wear after 500 km is acceptable with the foam expected to last 800 km.

Full review
I bought the Puma ForeverRun Nitro for stability and have run nearly 500 km in it. Puma usually designs aggressive shoes for fast runners, but this is their first proper stability shoe since Nitro foam arrived. It is a mild stability shoe, not an aggressive one, with a 10 mm drop for heel cushioning and a stable ride. The midsole is dual density: green Nitro foam on top and a firmer white foam below for stability. Most stability shoes, even the Kayano and GT, give little energy return. This one is different. I feel the bounce whether I run slow or fast, so it does not even feel like a stability shoe to me. I loved the midsole and have no complaints. The engineered mesh upper is high quality. The RunGuide system has a firm heel clip that stops the heel wobbling or rolling in too much, but it is light, not tight, so it is moderate support. The midfoot is snug, the heel padding is enough for long runs, and the toe box is spacious. It is the first time I have seen a Puma this wide in the forefoot. The medial cutout caused me no problems. My one issue is that the upper has already developed a cut. The outsole wear after 500 km is acceptable, and Puma's grip is the best of any brand. Puma says you will feel the foam up to 800 km and I believe it. It suits beginners and intermediate runners, half marathon to 30 km runs, and paces from slow to around 5K and 10K speed. Compared with the Kayano, which is about 300–310 g, plush and very protective, this is 280 g with protection, comfort and extra pop. It sold for ₹16,000 for a long time with no discounts, and has only now come down to ₹9,000–10,000. If you get it for ₹7,000–9,000, it is the best value for money. It is on Ajio, Flipkart and the Puma website.

Gel-Kayano 33
This became my favourite Kayano of all the ones I have tested, and at ₹17,000 it is one of the safest full marathon shoes in India for most runners. Very heavy runners and severe overpronators who dislike soft foam should stick with the Kayano 32.

StabilityNew Balance
860 v14
The 860v14 is one of the best shoes for flat feet and overpronation, and for me it beat the Kayano with extra bounce and stability. I give it 9 out of 10 overall, and at ₹6,000–9,000 it is a highly recommended buy.

StabilityASICS
Gel-Kayano 32
The Kayano 32 is top quality in every way and its guidance felt like it laid a flat road for my foot. But for my weight and moderate overpronation it was too much shoe for ₹17,000, and I would buy the GT-2000 14 or 13 instead.
