My verdict

For beginners on a tight budget who walk or run 2 to 5 km, it is one of the options if you find it under ₹2,000. Avoid it for fast running, high mileage, wet roads or if you need soft cushioning.

Pros

  • Very soft, comfy tongue
  • Moderate impact protection
  • Expected to last around 400 km
  • Superb build quality for under ₹2,500
  • Suits slightly heavier beginners and walking

Cons

  • Thick upper with low breathability beyond 5 km
  • Cloudfoam is firmer than other Adidas foams, high impact when running
  • Only a moderate heel counter
  • Basic, thin outsole with dangerous traction in the wet
  • Not for fast running or high mileage

Avoid if

Avoid it if you run at 4 to 5 min/km, do more than 30 km a week, need soft cushioning for sore knees or hips, have ankle problems, or run on wet roads.

Scores

Ride

6.0/10

Cloudfoam gives moderate impact protection, neither very soft nor very firm, but it feels firmer than other Adidas foams and has high impact for running.

Design & Comfort

7.0/10

The tongue is soft and comfy, but the thick upper breathes poorly, the heel counter is modest, and the outsole is dangerous in the wet.

Value

7.0/10

Build quality is superb for under ₹2,500, durability should be high at around 400 km, and he says try it if it is under ₹2,000.

Full review

These are my first impressions after my first run in the Galaxy 7. It looks designed as a casual walking shoe that can handle occasional running, not as a running shoe. It suits beginners, including slightly heavier beginners, who run up to 20 km a week in 2 to 5 km runs or mostly walk, have no ankle or pronation problems, and have a budget of ₹2,000 or less. It is one of the options for a casual, walking, lifestyle and running shoe, not the only option. The foam is Cloudfoam. It is a bit firmer than Adidas's other foams and gives moderate impact protection. It is neither very soft nor very firm. The Ultra felt firmer to me, and the Duramo SL felt very firm. Because the stack feels high, I think it will not go flat quickly and could last around 400 km. The upper is thick, so breathability will be low beyond 5 km. The quality is mid-range, as you would expect at this budget. The tongue is very soft and comfy, which fits a casual walking shoe. The heel counter and padding are only moderate, so avoid it if you have ankle problems. The laces are normal budget laces. The outsole is basic, thin rubber with no traction design. Traction is decent in normal conditions, but please avoid it in the wet. I ran very slowly on a wet track and felt I was about to fall. Injury is guaranteed. Avoid it if you run fast, at 4 or 5 min/km, run more than 30 km a week, or need soft cushioning because your knees or hips already hurt. It has high impact for running. For under ₹2,500 the build quality is superb, and overall I think durability will be high. If you fit the profile and find it under ₹2,000, you can try it.
