Full review

I did not expect much from the Supernova Rise 2. The first version felt low in stack and gave me too much ground feel. After running in this one, my impression changed completely. Of about 20 beginner-friendly daily trainers I have tested between ₹10,000 and ₹20,000, this is the one that suited me best. The midsole is fully Dreamstrike, a premium foam. It is very soft and absorbs impact well, but the rebound is moderate. It is neither very bouncy nor springy, and that gives me extra stability. The outsole pattern and a support system add more stability. A beginner needs stability at any slow pace, softness and impact protection, and I got all of that here. Many premium daily trainers, such as the Novablast or the Vomero 18, compromise on stability at slow paces or on stress to the ankles. This one did not. The upper is a high-quality engineered mesh and it breathes well. The laces and tongue work superbly for beginners and runners with neutral arches. The shoe is light. The outsole is thick and durable. After 100 km it looks good, and I had no problems running in mud and rain. Compared with the Vomero 18, Novablast, New Balance 1080 v14, Puma MagnifyNitro, Puma Electrify Nitro and many others, this is the one I would give a beginner without any worry. It is number one or two in my top three premium daily trainers for beginners. I have been seeing it for ₹7,000 to ₹9,000 on AJIO, Flipkart and other sites. If you get it under ₹8,000, it is one of the best value-for-money shoes you will ever get.
