My verdict

One of my top three max-cushion daily trainers of 2025; I couldn't find any problem with it for its purpose. It's expensive at ₹16,000, and it suits runners at 5 to 6 min/km, not slow, heavy or unstable runners.

Pros

  • Springy, energetic ZoomX ride
  • Light and breathable for a max-cushion shoe
  • Foam didn't flatten over a half marathon
  • Helps when you pick up the pace
  • Excellent, durable grip
  • Plush heel padding and tongue, no heel slippage
  • Reflective details, expected to last over 1,000 km

Cons

  • Expensive at ₹16,000 in India
  • Only on Nike's website, imported with tax
  • Unstable for paces slower than 6 min/km
  • Not for heavy runners or weak ankles

Avoid if

Avoid it if you run slower than 6 min/km, are a heavy runner, or have ankle stability problems.

Full review

I ran a half marathon in the Vomero Plus at about 6:50/km. Throughout the 21 km it felt springy, energetic, light and breathable, and the ride was fun. Most max-cushion daily trainers don't help when you pick up the pace, but this one does. It suits runners at 5 to 6 min/km best. The ZoomX midsole is the selling point. It's crazy bouncy and springy, and it didn't flatten out at all over the half marathon. The springiness, softness and bounce stayed the same throughout. I first tried ZoomX in the Vomero 18, which was very stable but heavier and less breathable after a half marathon. This shoe doesn't have those problems. Max-cushion shoes usually feel heavy after 15 km, and this one didn't. The upper is a very light, high-quality engineered mesh and it is very breathable. The heel padding and tongue are thick and plush, but it doesn't feel clunky like the Vomero 18. There is a heel counter, no heel slippage, premium laces, a pull tab, a soft insole, and reflective details on the logo and heel tab. The grip is excellent. After Puma, it has the best traction I know, and it feels durable. I expect it to last over 1,000 km. The first negative is the price. It is ₹16,000 in India and only on Nike's website, shipped from Singapore with import tax. That's expensive. If you can get it abroad for ₹10,000 to ₹12,000, buy it without thinking. The second point is stability. Slower than 6 min/km, the springy, bouncy foam won't feel stable, so beginners, heavy runners and slow runners may get ankle discomfort. For them, the Vomero 18 is the better choice. If you're at 5 to 6 min/km with no ankle stability issues, this is a superb shoe, and it also works for walking and casual wear.
