| Pros | Best Kayano upper he has tested, softer, thinner, more breathable · Taller toe box and very wide extra-wide fit · Very effective 4D Guidance System · No tiredness after a half marathon · Plush heel padding, balanced heel clip · Highly durable AHAR Plus hybrid outsole · Drop reduced to 8 mm · Excellent for walking | Premium-feeling materials for the price · Thick heel padding and stiff heel counter · Long, premium laces · Moderate, non-intrusive 3D Guidance support · Wide platform for a stable ride · Compact, feels lighter than its 270–280 g · Smooth heel-to-toe transition · Amazing step-in comfort, superb walking shoe |
| Cons | Overkill for lighter, moderate overpronators · ₹17,000 price, he regrets buying it · 300 g and bulky for faster paces · Firm on the first run · PureGEL feels like a gimmick | Midsole lacks impact protection, ankles and calves worked extra · Not enough for excessive overpronation · Very flexible, durability doubtful · Outsole rubber feels softer than on premium ASICS · Lacks the ASICS feel of cheaper Gel Excite 10 and Gel-Pulse · Not worth the retail price |
| Avoid if | Avoid it if you are under about 80–85 kg with only moderate overpronation, or if you want to run faster than 6:00/km. | Avoid it if you are a serious runner wanting a ₹5,000 shoe that lasts 800 km, or if you overpronate excessively. |
My verdicts
ASICS
Gel-Kayano 32
The Kayano 32 is top quality in every way and its guidance felt like it laid a flat road for my foot. But for my weight and moderate overpronation it was too much shoe for ₹17,000, and I would buy the GT-2000 14 or 13 instead.
Avoid if: Avoid it if you are under about 80–85 kg with only moderate overpronation, or if you want to run faster than 6:00/km.

GT-1000 13
The GT-1000 13 does its job for light, beginner runners who slightly overpronate, and it is a great walking shoe, but the midsole did not protect me well. I would not buy it at retail, only at around ₹4,000–4,500.
Avoid if: Avoid it if you are a serious runner wanting a ₹5,000 shoe that lasts 800 km, or if you overpronate excessively.
