Revolution 8

Light and stylish, but a narrow, thin-forefoot casual shoe, not a runner

என் தீர்ப்பு

The Revolution 8 is light, breathable and good-looking, but as a running shoe I would not recommend it, and ₹8,000 is far too much. Consider it only under ₹3,000 if you are light, have narrow feet and no back problems.

நன்மைகள்

  • Lightweight
  • Very light, breathable upper
  • Stylish look and colourways
  • Good outsole grip, even in the wet
  • Newer EVA than the Revolution 7

குறைகள்

  • Narrow and small fit
  • No felt forefoot cushioning, impact caused back pain
  • Outsole traction gone after 200 to 400 km
  • Far too expensive at about ₹8,000
  • Rarely discounted
  • Not a proper running shoe

தவிர்க்கவும்

Avoid it for running if you are heavy, have wide or even normal feet, or have a back injury.

I could not feel any forefoot cushioning and felt the impact on landing, which aggravated my back injury.

The upper is very light and breathable and it looks great, but it is narrow and small.

About ₹8,000 for a basic foam is too much; it is worth considering only under ₹3,000, and the outsole lasts 200 to 400 km.

முழு விமர்சனம்

This is Nike's most popular budget shoe in India and one of my most requested reviews. I hesitated, because I do not consider Nike's budget shoes for running, but I bought it in the store. The positives are that it is light, the upper is very light and breathable, and I really like the look. It feels more like a casual, walking or jogging shoe than a proper running shoe. The outsole is harder and grips well, even in the wet, but expect 200 to 400 km before the traction is gone. The Revolution 8 uses a newer EVA formulation than the Revolution 7. In the store it felt like it would protect against impact. For walking and light jogging, and for lighter runners, the cushioning feels moderate. The negatives matter more. It is narrow and small. If your feet are even slightly wide it will not fit, and I am not sure it suits normal feet. My biggest problem was the forefoot. Nike says 24 mm there, but I could not feel any cushioning. I felt the impact on landing, and since I have a back injury, it started to hurt. The third negative is the price: about ₹8,000 for such a basic foam, with discounts rare. If it were sold as a casual shoe I would rate it higher, but people treat it as a running shoe, and for running I would not recommend it. Consider it under ₹3,000 if you are not heavy, do not have wide feet, do not mind minimal forefoot stack and have no back injury. Nike fans can go to ₹3,500 to ₹4,000.
