My verdict
It is one of my top 5 long-run shoes of the year and my favourite among them. I would not pay ₹15,000 or more for any shoe, so buy it on offer; on a tighter budget the Novablast 5 at ₹10,000 gives most of the fun.
Pros
- Fun, jelly-like Infinion ride from 5 km to 30 km
- More stable than the 1080 v14
- Light for its stack, about 240 to 250 g
- Durable upper that will not tear easily
- Premium tongue, heel padding and collar
- 800 to 1,000 km expected under 90 kg
Cons
- Thick upper is less breathable than other super trainers
- Upper feels neither premium nor soft
- Forefoot narrower than the v14
- Hard to find online in India
- Expensive at ₹15,000 to ₹17,000
- Lower durability above 90 kg
Avoid if
Avoid the standard width if you have wide feet or bunions, and skip it at full price if ₹15,000 is a stretch.

Scores
Ride
8.5/10
The new Infinion foam feels like soft jelly and springs and stays fun from 5 km to 30 km, with better stability than the v14.
Design & Comfort
8.0/10
Premium tongue and heel padding, but the thick upper breathes less than other super trainers and the forefoot is narrower than the v14.
Value
8.0/10
Durable at 800 to 1,000 km under 90 kg, but I would not pay ₹15,000 to ₹17,000 for any shoe, and the Novablast 5 at ₹10,000 gives 70 to 80% of the fun.

Full review
I have finished running a lot in the 1080 v15, and it surprised me. I found the v14 too muted. Its heel was so soft that it felt unstable to me. This one is what I would call an elevated daily trainer: a daily trainer with extra fun that keeps calling you back to run. It is one of my top 5 long-run shoes this year, and my favourite of them. The big change is the new Infinion foam, a TPEE blend infused with nitrogen using a supercritical process. The green top layer is Infinion, and the lower layer is a different blend, so it is effectively dual density. It weighs about 240 to 250 g in my UK 8, close to the Novablast 5. The stack is about 40 mm at the heel and 34 mm at the forefoot, a 6 mm drop, but it did not feel like 40 mm. Whether it is 5 km, 20 km, 30 km or three hours, it feels like running on soft jelly and springs. It is more fine-tuned and more fun than the jelly feel of the Skechers Aero Burst. I like it so much that I wear it whenever I go out. The upper is a thick cloth. It breathes better than the v14, but less than other super trainers, and it can get hot running in full sun. It feels neither premium nor soft, but it will not tear easily. The tongue, heel padding and heel collar feel premium. The forefoot is narrower inside than the v14. It fits my foot exactly, but wide feet or bunions need the wide version. Grip is normal: no problem on roads or wet surfaces, but it is not Puma-level grip. It suits beginners who want one comfortable, fun shoe for a year of running and races, from 5:00 to 5:30/km out to 15:00/km, for 5 km up to long runs. Under 90 kg, expect 800 to 1,000 km with proper use. Above 90 kg it works, but the foam compresses more and you get about 600 to 800 km. It sells for ₹17,000, maybe ₹15,000 in stores. It is very rarely online in India, but every New Balance store has it, and I hear they give offers. I would not recommend any shoe at a full ₹15,000. If money were no issue, my first pick would be the Vomero Plus if available, then this. Otherwise I would happily take the Novablast 5 at around ₹10,000. It has about 70 to 80% of this shoe's fun, is lighter and should last over 800 km.

Ride 17
The Ride 17 is a textbook daily trainer: comfortable, stable and durable, with a balanced foam that works from 4:30 to 10:00/km. If you can find it for ₹6,000–7,000, it is value for money and worth buying.

1080 v14
If you want Novablast-style comfort with more stability and durability, consider the 1080 v14; it will be one of the top daily trainers of 2025. Buy it with a 10 to 20% offer, not at full price.
