| Pros | Soft yet snappy Flytefoam, comfortable at all paces · About 2 mm more stack than the Hyper Speed 5, felt like more · Very breathable, more durable upper · ASICSGRIP at toe-off gives excellent grip · More heel padding · Very stable · Now works as a daily trainer for fast runners · Outstanding value at ₹4,000 | Pleasant ride: soft at easy pace, responsive at 4:00/km · Less aggressive plate than the Magic Speed 5 · Extraordinary Puma grip · 8 mm drop · Dual-density foam adds stability · Puma claims 800 km durability · Can be one shoe for daily runs, long runs and racing |
| Cons | Foam not energetic enough for a ₹10,000 shoe · Not worth the ₹10,000 retail price · Laces came undone until double knotted · Not for beginners, flat feet, overpronation or runners over 80 kg · Lost the very low ground feel some fans of the Hyper Speed 5 liked | ₹16,000 retail price · Narrow fit, not for wide feet · Medial cut caused pronation issues · Foam could be more energetic · 240 g is a bit heavy for a plated trainer |
| Avoid if | Avoid it if you are a beginner, have flat feet or overpronation, are over 75 to 80 kg, or want a very soft, springy shoe. | Avoid it if you have wide feet, or if you are a beginner looking for a Hyrox shoe. |
My verdicts
ASICS
Hyper Speed 6
At ₹4,000 to ₹5,000 the Hyper Speed 6 is the best lightweight versatile workout shoe and I highly recommend it. At its ₹10,000 retail price I would not recommend it, because there are much better plated options.
Avoid if: Avoid it if you are a beginner, have flat feet or overpronation, are over 75 to 80 kg, or want a very soft, springy shoe.

Deviate Nitro 4
The Deviate Nitro 4 is a decent carbon-plated offering that suited me better than the Magic Speed 5, soft at easy pace and responsive at 4:00/km. I would not pay ₹16,000 for it; it regularly sells for ₹10,000–11,000.
Avoid if: Avoid it if you have wide feet, or if you are a beginner looking for a Hyrox shoe.
