My verdict
The Red Tape Arrow Pro is a well-built budget stability shoe for beginners with flat feet or overpronation who walk and jog up to 10–15 km. Under ₹1,500 it is worth the money, but it is not a springy long-run shoe.
Pros
- Real stability from a stiff heel clip and side plate
- Snug midfoot that stops wobble
- Soft heel cushioning for heel strikers
- Excellent build quality for the price
- Breathable, with a soft insole
- Worth it under ₹1,500
Cons
- Not springy or bouncy
- Firm forefoot
- Not for regular long runs
- Foam is plain EVA despite ETPU claims
Avoid if
Avoid it if you want a springy, bouncy shoe for regular long runs.

Full review
I bought this beginner-friendly Red Tape running shoe on Flipkart for ₹1,400, and it is now discounted to about ₹1,100. Red Tape says the foam is ETPU, but in my view it is just normal EVA. They do not call it a stability shoe anywhere, but that is how it felt when I ran in it. There is a plastic plate on the sides that I could feel, and a stiff heel clip that locks the heel. The midfoot is snug and the forefoot is a bit wider. The shoe held my foot well, so it did not wobble, and it felt like a system was guiding my foot. I would say I got about 30–40% of the stability system you get in premium shoes. The ride is not springy or bouncy. The forefoot feels moderate and balanced, actually a bit firm, while the heel is nicely soft, so heel strikers will feel the cushioning. It is fine for 10–15 km runs, and longer only occasionally and slowly. I would not use it for regular long runs. The build quality is excellent for the price. I saw no moulding or glue issues, the stitching inside is neat, the heel padding and insole are soft, it is breathable, and the laces and tongue are spot on. It suits people with flat feet or overpronation who walk, jog 5 km occasionally and run 10–12 km once a week. Under ₹1,500 it is worth your money. Most ₹1,500 shoes I review do not feel like running shoes, but Red Tape uses high-quality, durable materials.
