My verdict
The Questar 3 surprised me with its soft, protective ride and premium-feeling upper, a step up from the Galaxy 7. It suits beginners and heavier beginners running slowly up to 10 km, but only at ₹3,000 to ₹3,500, not at retail.
Pros
- Soft Cloudfoam Plus, softer than Galaxy 7, Ultrarun 5 and Runfalcon
- Good impact protection, no harshness when running faster
- Thin, breathable, premium-feeling upper
- Plush tongue and soft heel padding
- Laces he really likes
- Slightly better wet traction than the Galaxy 7
- Works for casual and office wear
Cons
- No energy return
- No heel counter or stability features
- Still nervous on wet surfaces
- Not for high mileage or fast running
- Durability not suited to heavy use
- Retail price too high
Avoid if
Avoid it if you have ankle stability problems, run over 30 to 40 km a week, run faster than 5 min/km, or need a very durable shoe.

Ride
7.0/10
The Cloudfoam Plus is very soft and protective, softer than the Galaxy 7, Ultrarun 5 and Runfalcon, with no harshness but no energy return.
Design & Comfort
7.5/10
The thin, breathable upper, plush tongue and soft heel padding feel premium, but there is no heel counter and wet grip still worried me.
Value
7.0/10
I was surprised by its performance but not its retail price; at ₹3,000 to ₹3,500 it is a good shoe, though there are better ones at ₹3,500.

These are first impressions after one run. The Cloudfoam Plus midsole is a softer version of the Cloudfoam in the Galaxy 7. It felt like a budget Nimbus. It is softer than the Ultrarun 5, the Galaxy 7 and the Runfalcon, and very pleasant. I tried some fast running too. There was no energy return, but I felt no harshness, and the impact protection was good. The upper is thin, soft and breathable, and feels quite premium. The Galaxy 7 upper was thick and I had heat problems on fast and long runs. The tongue is thick, soft and plush, I really like the new laces, and the heel padding is softer than the Galaxy 7's. There is no heel counter and no stability features. It is a neutral shoe. The outsole is the same as the Galaxy 7 with small changes for traction. I got about 20% more grip in the wet, but I was still nervous there. In normal conditions it was good. It suits beginners, including heavier beginners, with weekly mileage up to 20 to 30 km and long runs of 5 to 8 km, sometimes 10 km, who want high stack and impact protection for very slow running. It also works for casual walking, lifestyle and office wear. Avoid it if you have ankle stability problems, run more than 30 to 40 km a week, run faster than 5 min/km, or need a very durable shoe. I was surprised by the performance, but not by the retail price. There are higher quality shoes at ₹3,500. If you get it under ₹4,000, and ideally at ₹3,000 to ₹3,500, it is a good shoe.
